I know how you feel when you sense those first symptoms of an anxiety or a hyperventilation attack appear. You're sitting somewhere and you were calm. All of a sudden you sense your heart beating faster and or you sense some tingling in your body, your breathing gets shallow, you get nauseated and feel dizziness appearing, you have difficulty breathing and you get lightheaded.

In the meantime, in your head you think thoughts like: “Oh no, why is this happening now? What’s wrong with me? This must be something serious… and I don’t want others to notice I’m having these symptoms… where is the exit?”

When you continue this, you really allow the anxiety or panic or hyperventilation attack enter your body. Your symptoms will get worse and you will create agoraphobia or a generalized anxiety disorder.

And maybe you don't have those full blown attacks. Maybe you're just afraid to get a red face while talking to other people etc. Nevertheless, the causes are the same.

Maybe you're affraid to drive, to go to a restaurant, a supermarket, maybe you don't even want to get out of your own house.
